As I start to expand and really start to write about things other than just the movies that the American Film Institute has deemed worthy, I thought about how I could start to write about newer movies, things that are out in theaters. First, I thought I may want to just write individual write ups whenever I saw a new movie, and that is something that could still happen, if I feel like the movie needs or deserves its own post.
However, what I actually decided to do was to do a recap of everything new I saw each month, and post it on the first Monday of each month. This makes it a little easier for me to be flexible about how I format these things, and doesn’t put me in a situation where I feel like I have to see movies within a certain timeframe.
I love going to the theater. It’s absolutely one of my favorite things to do, and this kind of opens up an excuse for me to go more often. Sometimes, like right now, there are a ton of movies I’m excited to go see, and those write ups might be more substantial in length, and other months, the movie slate is less appetizing, and I will probably make it to the theater less during those times. Basically, if you aren’t a big movie goer, and you don’t keep up with what is out, this can be your guide for seeing whether or not it was a good movie month. It might also lead you to check out some films that maybe were off your radar, but my writing about it caught your interest, and that would be cool, too.
